It’s rare I find an event that consists of all my favourite things! Obviously, I love movies but I also enjoy the occasional fruity cocktail, good company, gorgeous views of London, a beautiful sunset and delicious American food. The only thing missing was Jake Gyllenhaal as my date. One day!
Rooftop Film Club is the perfect place for friends, couples, first dates, families or a word night out. It’s now reopened for the summer and has three amazing locations to pick from across London in Peckham, Shoreditch and Stratford.Â
The cinema itself has a huge screen on an open air rooftop which makes a huge difference when you’re used to being in a stuffy packed cinema. Instead your usual cinema chair, you’ve got a deck chair and don’t worry about not being able to see the screen. That’s not a problem here.

I attended the Peckham Venue where we had beautiful sunsets of the London Skyline. You can see the Shard from the rooftop and bar area as well as Canary Wharf.Â

While you wait for the sun to set and so the movie can begin, there’s an excellent bar area for you to enjoy. Since I last came to Rooftop cinema Club they’ve made some incredible improvements to the bar area.
There is now a beautifully decorated ceiling to shelter you from the rain but not too covered so you don’t miss those incredible sunsets and colours.Â
At the bar they have an selection of drinks and cocktails. The gin and pineapple cocktail was my favourite by a mile and I don’t really like gin most of the time. True story.Â
Then…there’s the food. I was so excited to get my hands on Rockadollar burgers once more. They’re delicious. They also have cheesy chips (northerner rejoice!) and hotdogs to tickle your taste buds.

Save some room for later because the food doesn’t stop there. On your way into the screening, be sure to pick up your popcorn (salted for me) and some sweeties! You also get your own blanket to keep you warm as the sun sets and headphones so you can hear every word of your chosen film.

Sunset, headphones, action! Let the movie commence!Â

Here’s some of the films you can watch on this amazing rooftop above London:

Rooftop Film Club also has locations in America too! I visited the Rooftop Cinema Club in New York and watched Taxi Driver which was an amazing experience. They also have locations in LA, San Diego and Houston.Â
Whichever location you choose, I hope you have a magical time.
