The Romcom Duo We All Needed
Separately, Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield have both achieved numerous award nominations including Best Actor/Actress at the Oscar’s. Bringing these two together was a true achievement and brought us something absolutely magical. I never knew I needed a pairing so much till I saw them on screen together. There chemistry was incredible and the balance of talent made this movie a great watch. More please! Yes, I want more of these two paired up together. I think we’ve found ourselves a new Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts pairing.

Why Is Nudity Still Required
Poor Pugh is naked quite a lot during this movie and yes she’s got a lovely body but why is it still necessary for women to be totally but ass naked on screen. We didn’t get a peek at Garfield who remained rather modestly covered up but Pugh had all her bits out throughout the film. Why is this still considered OK and needed to tell the story? In my opinion, Florence didn’t need to have her tits showing for quite a lot of these scenes. They could have easily done it all without it and it wouldn’t have taken anything away from the story. Nothing wrong with Pugh’s tits, they were lovely. But I do feel like this happens a lot with female actresses on screen and it’s really not needed.

So Brilliantly British
This movie is incredibly British. There’s no denying where this film is based. It’s undeniably British. Obviously, we’ve got our two leads who are waving the British flags for us all over the world but there’s a lot of “Britishisms” within the movie too. Quirky sayings, mannerisms, etc but the script is very English. They way the characters behave, the birth scene, etc. It’s just hilariously British. Lots of UK snacks including, Terry’s Chocolate Orange (my personal fav), Weetabix and a selection box too. See how many you can spot. Makes you proud to be British.

Time Has No Meaning
At first I was a bit confused with the time line in the movie as it flickers back and forth from the past and present. But I soon got on board and was happily entertained by the flow of time. It perfectly helps you fill in the blanks and you wait for those magical moments of how they got together to having a baby together. It’s something I thought I’d have a real issue with but it works.

Need a good cry?
I’ve never seen an audience cry so much by the time the credits rolled. Everyone was sobbing. I won’t give any spoilers but there were a lot of happy and sad tears. The film perfectly captures the magic of their relationship, the good times to the hard. It had some hilarious moments but also tough ones too. I think everyone was thinking of someone in their life by the time the film ended and I think that perfectly captures the emotion of cinema to me.

Summary
We Live In Time is a must see. It’s hilariously British, with a great story and will have you bawling your eyes out. Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh are fantastic together and are a great pairing for this magical movie. Start off 2025 with a great movie this is the one. So get your British chocolates of choice and get to the cinema for some great feel good movie.
